More than 50 Finnish poets stand with climate strikers on March 29th

On Friday 29th of March an impressive number of Finnish poets of different generations will take part in a marathon poetry reading, to support the Fridays for Future climate strike inspired by Greta Thunberg. Over forty poets have volunteered to read a text on the Parliament House steps, and a dozen more to post their poetry online, in celebration of the irreplaceable things threatened by climate change.

Among the participants are notable and interesting poets such as Claes Andersson, Anja Erämaja, Aulikki Oksanen, Helena Sinervo, Jyrki Kiiskinen, Saila Susiluoto, Pauli Tapio and Tuukka Pietarinen. Poems will be read in several languages.

The reading will be recorded and streamed online. The event is organized in collaboration with Helsinki Poetry Connection, Kriittinen korkeakoulu, Nihil Interit, Nuoren Voiman Liitto and Osuuskunta Poesia.
